She squeaks...
My new dog seems to be working out so far but she does have a minor defect. She squeaks. Her bark in not at all typical. It is much more like the sqeak of a rubber duck or maybe the bark of a squirrel. Very small and very...squeaky.

Jan 22
Wow! Can you guys believe it is already the 22nd of Jan.? I am amazed at how quickly time flies. In twenty days I will turn twenty three years old. How crazy is that?
If you would had asked me what I planned to be doing at that age when I was ten, I would have said I'd training drug dogs.
If you had asked me when I was sixteen, I might have been planning to be overseas serving as a missionary.
So what am I doing when I turn 23? Well, I'll be teaching art, painting murals and hopefully going to the San Antonio Rodeo!

Like who?
You Are Most Like Charlotte! |
You are the ultimate romantic idealist You've been hurt before, but that hasn't caused you to give up on love. If anything, your resolve to fall in love is stronger than ever. And it's this feminine optimism that men find most appealing about you. Romantic prediction: That guy you are seeing (or crushing on)? Could be very serious - if you play your cards right! |
Fire!
Your Element is Fire |
Your power color: red Your energy: hot Your season: spring Like a fire, you are full of power and light. A born leader, you easily draw people toward you. You are full of courage and usually up for anything dangerous. You have a huge ego and love to be the center of attention. |
The Color Green
Your Power Color is Green |
You feel most at home in a world of ideas. You're curious and logical - and enjoy a good intellectual challenge. You're super cool, calm, and collected. Very little tries your patience. Your only fear? People not realizing how smart and able you are! |
Hehe...
Well, it says I would wear this...but probably only on a dare. Give me a ball cap or a cowboy hat over this any day!
Your Hat Personality Is A |
What kind?
You are a Great Girlfriend |
When it comes to your guy, you're very thoughtful But you also haven't stopped thinking of yourself You're the perfect blend of independent and caring You're a total catch - make sure your guy knows it too! |

Do you believe me?
You Are a Fierce Femme |
You have a wild side, and you aren't afraid to bring it out when the time is right. But you also know when to hang back and keep your "crazy chick" persona in check. In fact, some of your friends may be surprised to find out how far you can take it... You may look mild mannered, but it's all an act! |
Art
I started a new art student today. He is 7 and a very talented young man. I am really excited about teaching him because I can tell he will make a lot of progress in the weeks to come. We worked mainly on cartoon expression today. I'm happy to be teaching again, I feel like it is much more rewarding than painting random murals on walls.
Sometimes...
Sometimes I am so frustrated with my life. I basically want to sit down and cry. I'm hungry for fellowship. I'm sick of always having to fight my way to the surface to breathe. I feel the need to slap the next person who tells me I should go to college. I just want people to love me for who I am. I'm feeling a distinct need for emotional support. A few hugs would be nice every once in a while.
I've been feeling down today but tonight a few of my friends called to see if I wanted to go bowling with them. We had a good time and I was starting to knock my blues. I picked up another painting job while I was out and added an art student to my schedule. Happy thought...and yet, with all the extra chances to paint murals coming I am wondering why I decided to take on art students. I should probably stick with one or the other. Stress is mounting. Why do I stress out about things so much? I don't want to be stressed or cause stress but it seems like that is my talent these days.
I took note of the people around me this evening. A friend had just been in a major fight with his Dad and his eyes looked so lost and vacant. I wanted to hug him and tell him things would be ok, but I don't know if they will. He is staying with a friend tonight...but I don't know if he has a place to go next week.
Another girl asked me if I would be her nanny. Her "live in" of five years is leaving and they have a two year old son who will need someone to look after him while she is working. I didn't know what to tell her...I hate saying no, I think I heard myself say that I would help her watch him while she was looking for someone, but that I didn't want to do it long term. I felt honored, she invited me to move in, said she would pay room and board plus $20.00 a week. It was a good offer since I know it would be a real financial sacrifice on her part. I weep to know that she is in such need. I've been saying a few extra prayers tonight in hopes that the Lord will take care of the whole situation.
Anyway, that was just a little glimpse into my mood this evening. ~Sarah

*rubs eyes* Well, I should say something I guess...
Well, all I can say is that I am extremely tired. I stayed up pretty late last night talking to some friends on yahoo. The report from Iraq is that Gary is doing well.
Ginger is learning new things every day. She is a very quick learner but is still very easily distracted.
I sang kearoke last night. I'm getting better...one of these days maybe it won't scare me so much.
My bowling continues to score in below the ideal.
Pop and I spent about three hours getting groceries today. It was crazy.
It will cost $75-80 bucks to get Ginger caught up with shots, heart guard and her checkup.

Why haven't I written anything?
Haven't felt like talking much these days. Haven't had much to write about. Don't really feel like anything worth typing about is happening. Everything seems a bit depressing. Hope you guys don't mind pics!

Ginger
Well, getting a new dog is like getting a new pair of shoes. You have to break them in before they are comfortable. Ginger is no exception to the rule. She is fluffy and had a nice bath on Sunday morning but still smells like a dog at the end of the day. She attracts dirt just like a little kid but she also loves to swim.
I took her to town with me in search of a second new collar since she managed to break the first one yesterday. We got a really pretty leather one this time complete with metal rings and closers. The plastic ones just don't seem to do the job. Anyway, after picking up the collar I decided to stop by a friend's house just to say hello. They let Ginger play in the backyard with their pup while we were inside. She must have got tired of wrestling with the little fellow she was playing with because before I knew it she was swimming in the kiddie pool. She had a great time. Her new friend Toby looking on in horror from his spot outside of the pool. She just ran around in there snapping at the water and jumping around like a fish.
She must have been taking lessons from the country dogs because she knows just the right way to chase cars. First, she crouches real low when they start heading her way. Then, just as they past she lets out a burst of speed and dashes after them. This is an area we will be working on in the future...though to tell you the truth I am a little stumped.
She doesn't have much use for sheet music yet so when we loaded up in the truck for the ride home I heard a small ripping sounds. Rip, rip, rip. I looked down to see what she had. She was in the middle of shredding the music my friend had arranged for me several years back. I had just gotten my second copy of it and let me assure you that it took me a year to convince him I needed another copy enough for him to locate one.

Quizzes by myYearbook.com -- the World's Biggest Yearbook!
Took a test...
Ok, so I took a test and this is the answer I come up with...
Take the quiz:
Which GUY would you date? (((PiCTURES)))
Vin Diesel
You like a man who will protect you, with his BIG muscles!!!!!
Quizzes by myYearbook.com -- the World's Biggest Yearbook! Now, not bad on the whole though I have no idea who this guy is...I hear he has a bad boy persona but is always good. I guess they nailed it on the head because I am attracted to "the bad boy who knows how to be good kind of guy." I've always had a thing for the guy who forces himself to behave even when he could easily swing the other way. As a friend told me this evening...I like to flirt with the dark side...not nice...but if he means I don't like dorks...well, he is right.
(not that I think the actor has anything to do with that...I'm just using him as a springboard for writing. Anyhow...night!)

Basketball
Well, today I met up with some old friends for a game of basketball. It was fun, wish we all lived closer together because there is nothing like a night of sweet christian fellowship coupled with basketball. Good for the soul!

New years eve...
Well, I guess I am supposed to tell of my grand adventures here...
*sighs* Well, morning dawned bright and early New years eve. Kids kept peeking into my room to see if I was awake so they could play with the x-box and I ...well, I pretended to be asleep until the phone rang around 8am. It wasn't for me. ~I got up anyway. Rambled in to check on computer world, allowed the herd into my room, visited with my uncle and waited on my Aunt to cut my hair.
Morning turned into afternoon and still the hair cut did not get bumped up on the priority list. I headed to the store to grab some cat food and stopped by the bowling alley to show my parents the painting I had done there.
Stopped to grab a bite to eat while I was out. Then I went home to create a flyer to leave out so that I can get my art lessons started up again. Haircut loomed in the future but I realize that if I get it cut I will miss the New years Eve party because it is three hours away. Decide that the haircut really is worth it, even if I have to spend the night at home doing nothing.
Haircut done, I play on the computer for a while. I think about going to hear my friend's band preform. Doorbell rings, an old friend of mine is downstairs. He noticed that I was home and decided to invite me to go to a New Years Eve party with him.
I'm thinking...hey, that's fun. Glad to have a few good friends left int the world! I look at my watch and have an hour and a half before the party starts so I head to the bowling alley to drop off my art information. Visit with my friends there, but tell them I can't stay, then rush home so I'll be there when he comes to pick me up.
The time for him to come passes, half an hour, forty five minutes...I guess it is possible that he could forget me? I call him up...sure enough he forgot. How on earth can someone forget so fast? *sigh*
Well, he did come to pick me up eventually but was a little bummed about being forgotten and about not doing what I had originally planned to do.
Out to the country we go, lots of my buddies there, shoot off some fireworks, drink some gingerale and sit around and watch a bunch of couples doing what couples do.
So, was new years eve good? I guess. (Ok, the truth is, no, it was a bummer of an evening.)
