3. The Gobi Desert in Central Asia/Mongolia. This baby covers o.5 million sq. mi/ 1.3 million sq. km.
4. The Patagonian Desert in South America /Argentina contains 0.3 million sq. mi/0.8 million sq. km.
5. The Kalahari Desert in Southwest Africa consumes 0.27million sq. mi/0.71 million sq.km.
6. The Great Victoria Desert in Australia is 0.25million sq.mi./0.5 million sq. km.
7. The Great Basin Desert in North America, 0.2 million sq. mi/0.5 million sq. km.
8. The Great Sandy Desert in Australia. 0.15 million sq. mi./0.4 million sq.km
9.The Sonoran Desert in North America 0.12 million sq. mi./0.31 million sq. km
10. The Garagum Desert in Cenrtal Asia/Turkmenistan with 0.11 million sq. mi/0.28 million sq. km.

Hi Texas Gal, I'm from the FFMB also. I play piano, yes weird I know for a band but always wanted to play piano. Interesting info about the largest deserts in the world. I've only been to death valley camping(too many times) as a kid when hardly anyone was around at all..total peace and silence while riding our little honda motorcyle in our bikini's with helmets and boots on! Imagine the scene!..lol..

Thanks for all the comments! My part of Texas is flat but we have nice green grass, lazy rivers, and beautiful oak trees so it doesn't resemble the desert at all. Unless we haven't had rain for a very long time...I just listed the deserts at random.
