God’s anointed

I was reading in 1 Samuel 16:14-23 today.
In the passage King Saul was being troubled by an evil spirit. It was suggested to him that a man be found to play music for him.

The young man that was supplied to do the job was recommended for these reasons.....
1. He was skilled and could play his instrument well
2. He was valiant
3. He was a man of war
4. He was comely
5. The Lord was with him
6. He was young and he served the King with love

These are things that were written about a man after God’s own heart. Strive for His excellence in these things. Be ready to serve when needed! Be valiant for the cause of Christ. Serve the Lord with love.
