Music

A few weeks ago I talked about the music that soothed King Saul's soul. In that passage King Saul was being troubled by an evil spirit. It was suggested to him that a man be found to play music for him. (1 Samuel 16:14-23 )

Here we see another instance in scripture where music is used to usher in the presence of the Lord God.

Elisha was being asked to prophesy and he spoke these words:

"But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him." (2 Kings 3:15)

Wow! Music is a powerful tool!!!
Does the music you listen to usher the Spirit of God into your presence. Does it honor and worship Him? Does it bring you closer to Him or does it drive you farther from His presence?

Do you play an instrument with skill? Can you play in such a way that the hand of the Lord would come upon your listeners and work in their lives? Music is an awesome tool in the hand of Christians. Guard against using it in an improper way.
